Feature Friday - Jeffrey Weinstein
Name
Jeffrey Weinstein
Pronouns
He/Him
Bio
Jeffrey Weinstein started stand up six years ago as a change of life reflex to aging. As a senior comic on the spectrum, he struggles with emotional self-regulation and cannot hold back critiques of hypocrisy and social and moral injustices. He constantly finds humor in every life situation experienced. He is on a mission to entertain the younger generations but speaks with wisdom and experience to convey that life is not as serious as they think and many things cannot be taken too seriously.

Where in Montreal are you located?
Cote des Neiges
What do you love about that neighborhood?
I love the ethnic diversity and how this is reflected by the diversity of food markets and restaurants. It is also easy point to travel from to various venues.
What’s your favourite art space in Montreal and why?
The archeological museum in Old Montreal, because it is historical and educational.
Describe your art in your own words.
Critical, self-deprecating and bringing the lighter side of tense situations.
What have you been working on recently?
Getting a monthly comedy writing group together through Meetup.
What inspired you to get into stand up comedy?
The laughs I can get with a very simple joke about myself.
What inspires your joke writing?
Life situations, past experiences, current events.
Who is your favourite comedian right now?
Ricky Gervais
What is the best joke you’ve ever written?
As a retiree I don't play golf. I think it is a very stupid sport. And I have better things to do than chase a ball around an 18 hole course and still never get it in the hole.
What’s your favorite Montreal room and why?
The Brass Door. Kris Dulgar is my favorite host and the audiences they get are fantastic.
